In the run-up to 10 December Human Rights Day, EHRA invites you to a policy webinar on decriminalisation and its real impacts on people who use drugs in CEECA: Decriminalise! Policy Webinar under the BOOST project.
4 December 2025, 14:30–16:00 CET
Languages: English & Russian (simultaneous interpretation)
Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89055986872.
During the webinar, EHRA will present new and updated evidence, including:
- Updated “Criminalization Costs” country profiles and regional comparison for CEECA, with fresh data on financial and social costs of criminalising people who use drugs
- A new regional report on CESCR (UN Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights) violations of people who use drugs in CEECA
Together, these analyses show how criminalisation:
- drives poverty and social exclusion,
- blocks access to health and social services,
- and leads to systematic human rights violations,
and how this evidence can be used in advocacy at EU and national levels.
The webinar will also feature inputs from the UN human rights system, the European Parliament and country examples from Europe that are moving towards decriminalisation, followed by a discussion with participants.
The session is organised under the EU4Health-funded BOOST project by DPNSEE with partners input.
